About Us

Atlantic Shore Dermatology was founded in 2005 by Ashley C. Cavalier, M.D., with a philosophy of providing excellence in dermatologic care in a compassionate and caring environment. Set amongst the majestic oaks on Saint Simons Island, Georgia, the team of Atlantic Shore Dermatology strives to bring you and your family the highest quality medical and cosmetic skin care available. In 2011, Dr. Cavalier opened an additional office in beautiful Waycross, Georgia, to better serve the communities in southeast Georgia. The team of Dr. Ashley Cavalier and physician assistants Rachel Hawkins Duncan and Lindsey Gross Jones all believe in developing relationships with our patients that will last a lifetime.

For those of our patients who have had pre-cancers, atypical moles, or skin cancer, we practice preventive medicine with regularly scheduled monitoring visits. We offer some of the newest non-surgical therapeutic and preventive treatments for sun damaged and precancerous skin. It is our intention that by focusing on prevention and early diagnosis and treatment, we can improve the rate of cure of most types of skin cancer.

For those who wish to enhance their appearance or reverse the changes in their skin brought on by years of environmental exposure, we offer a wide spectrum of cosmetic treatments that are done as an outpatient and are safer and more financially reasonable than other more aggressive surgical options. With the knowledge and experience of a board certified dermatologist and someone who cares for all of your dermatologic needs, Dr. Cavalier has the unique qualifications to make available to you expert information and can advise you on what your options are, from daily skin care to reduction in the signs of aging and improvement in the quality of your skin. We will work with you to develop a care plan individualized to meet your specific needs and lifestyle.

Our office also offers pediatric dermatology services. We pride ourselves on compassionate care, especially when it comes to the needs of your child. We offer the most current therapies for a variety of chronic dermatologic conditions such as eczema, seborrhea, psoriasis, and rosacea, and have available to you and your family the most current medical and technology based treatment options for acne, from mild cases to more severe cystic acne.

In these times of rapidly advancing technology and medical knowledge, we strive to provide our patients with the latest state-of-the-art treatment combined with the highest level of patient care. By researching new methods as they become available and providing sound medical advice about your treatment options, we are dedicated to providing you with an ever-increasing, ever-expanding realm of services in a caring, comfortable environment.
